Control your equipment from depot to site.
A machine needs to be available at the right time, arrive at the right site and be charged correctly. In RIB 4.0, equipment planning and logistics connect to usage and costs. The equipment department and site team can work from the same information.
Compare equipment demand with availability
Equipment demand starts with the work being planned. Central equipment records and resource planning bring together the requirements of different sites and show which machines and tools are available.
This helps you coordinate deployment across projects. When two sites need the same equipment, you can discuss a schedule change, an available alternative or the need for external hire in good time.
Track dispatch and equipment movements
Deploying equipment requires clear arrangements between the depot, transport and site. Dispatching and logistics notes record which equipment is moving and which project it is intended for.
Transfers between sites and returns to the depot are part of the same process. Accurate records make deployment traceable and support subsequent charging.
Turn rates and usage into project costs
The cost to the site depends on the agreement. This might be an internal or external hire rate per period, or charging based on operating hours. RIB 4.0 allows price lists and settlement types to be configured for that process.
Bringing together usage, the relevant period and the applicable rate provides a basis for the allocated equipment cost. The site can then compare that cost with its budget allowance.
Include maintenance in deployment decisions
Maintenance affects availability. Following maintenance information alongside planned deployment helps you take account of machines that require attention when allocating equipment.
Agree on the information that needs to come back from site. Prompt reporting of a defect or maintenance requirement helps the equipment department organise the next deployment.
Look at utilisation and costs from both sides
The equipment department needs insight into utilisation, rates and its own costs. The project manager needs to know what is charged to the site and how much equipment will still be needed.
Consistent records help answer both questions. You can assess the use of your fleet and give the site a basis for its actual costs and remaining cost forecast.
