Partner · Project Controller

Understanding project figures starts with practical experience.

Dennis has both configured project monitoring systems and worked with them every day. At Teamservices, he supports project teams and helps construction companies improve their processes and software.

On site, he reviews the budget, completed work, costs and commitments. He brings that information together to assess the cost of the remaining work and what it means for the expected project result.

His background

Construction has been part of Dennis’s life from an early age. He grew up in a family with three generations of parquet floor installers. He began studying accounting and taxation, handled the accounts for KPD Academy and also studied for a bachelor’s degree in construction.

In 2018, he helped set up and configure project monitoring systems on the Oosterweel works in Antwerp. He then took on daily project cost control. This showed him first-hand which information was useful, where records fell short and what needed to change.

How Dennis works

Dennis starts with the source of the figures. How is an order recorded? Which hours and quantities have been entered? And do those records align with the budget and the work completed?

With the project team, he discusses variances and uncertainties. He translates findings from project cost control into better working arrangements, records and reports.

In process and software projects, he therefore considers future monitoring from the outset. To assess productivity by activity during construction, budgets, hours and quantities need to align from the estimating and system configuration stages.

Software experience

Software Dennis has used in practice for accounting, project cost control and system configuration.
